Psychotherapy or Coaching

Understanding the differences, and finding the kind of support that fits your needs.

It’s normal to wonder whether you should work with a coach, psychologist, or psychotherapist.

Each can offer meaningful support, but they have different objectives and boundaries.

Coaching may be a good fit when you are generally stable and want to work with patterns you’re already aware of, boundaries, life transitions, or values-based change.

Psychotherapy is usually the more appropriate starting point when you need diagnosis, assessment, deeper trauma processing, crisis support, or treatment for symptoms that are affecting daily life.

Neither is the “more serious” choice.

What matters is finding the kind of support that fits your needs and circumstances.
